Almost half a year has passed since President Trump held an informal dinner with Akie Abe, the wife of the late former Prime Minister, at his private residence, Mar-a-Lago, Florida , on December 15, 2016, before taking office . Now Russian President Putin has invited Akie Abe to the Kremlin for a chat. The Japanese government, which has faithfully followed the sanctions against Russia following the Ukraine war that broke out under the Biden administration and has issued a travel ban to Russia, has tacitly approved the visit of the widow of Abe to the Kremlin, suggesting a sign of a thaw in Japan-Russia relations.

Since Trump took office as president, he has had at least three official telephone conversations with Putin in the four months since. According to the announcement, each conversation lasted for two and a half hours. There is no way that they would not have exchanged views on the background to the murder of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, with whom they both had close ties. Russian intelligence agencies must be collecting in-depth information on Abe's murder. Putin's invitation to Akie Abe is likely with Trump's approval.

On May 29, President Putin invited Akie Abe, whom the Trumps had treated so graciously to at the end of last year, to the Kremlin, shortly after Trump had made a complete turnaround and criticized Putin.

According to US reports, on May 25, Trump said, "I've known Putin for a long time and we've always gotten along well. But he's firing rockets at (Ukrainian) cities and killing people. I don't like him at all." He also posted on his social media account, "Truth Social," that Putin has "gone completely crazy." However, when asked if he was considering strengthening sanctions against Russia, he replied, "Of course," but there is no sign that he will take steps to strengthen sanctions. "Gone completely crazy" is a typical Trump phrase, and Putin must have laughed it off.

"In front of Putin, Akie Abe stated, "Russia is an important neighboring country for Japan, and cultural contact between the two countries is important even in these difficult times." Putin responded by saying, "Mr. Abe worked hard to conclude the Japan-Russia Peace Treaty." Although he avoided mentioning that the Japan-US Security Treaty is preventing the return of the Northern Territories, there is hope that the Trump administration's reconciliation with Russia will lift the Dulles curse. 

The invitation to Akie Abe, which seems to have been made with Trump's consent, is  a signal from the Putin administration to the Japanese government that "Japan should break away from the iron chains of the US neoconservatives and old Europe (DS) and join the circle of US-Russia reconciliation."

Putin and Trump are fighting against the US, Europe, and the US DS's efforts to destroy the Putin regime in Russia and dominate Eurasia, and should be seen as a fight against the modern Ancien Régime. I would like to see the invitation of Akie Abe to the Kremlin from the unfriendly country of Japan as a signal to the US and European DS, who are happy that a rift has developed between Trump and Putin, that ``we are still good friends.''
